We’re a local crew, not a rotating cast. The technicians who show up at your door in Pasadena live in the San Gabriel Valley, know the difference between a 1920s Craftsman foundation and a 1960s Altadena slab, and have probably worked on houses within a mile of yours. Tobias Reyner has built this team around one idea: when water is spreading through your house at 2 a.m., the person standing in it should be someone whose name you know, whose face matches the photo we sent, and whose work carries a 365-day guarantee. That’s what the Threshold Standard means here, and it starts with the people below.
Restoration work we handle

Our People
Marcus D., Lead Water Damage Technician
Marcus has been pulling water out of Pasadena homes for eleven years, the last six with Marsh. He holds IICRC certifications in Water Damage Restoration and Applied Structural Drying, and he’s the guy who reads the psychrometric readings (measuring the moisture in the air and inside wall cavities) to tell you when a structure is actually dry, not just dry to the touch. Before restoration work, Marcus framed houses in the Inland Empire, so he knows how a wall should look once the baseboards come off, which matters when you’re deciding what gets saved and what gets cut. He keeps a notebook in the truck with job notes going back to 2019, and he claims he can tell a Pasadena house’s plumbing era by the sound the pipes make when the water first goes off. Nobody’s proven him wrong.
Elena R., Mold Remediation Specialist
Elena joined the crew in 2018 after five years doing environmental cleanup for commercial buildings in Los Angeles. She’s RIA-certified and handles the containment, air scrubbing, and material removal on our mold jobs, and she’s the team’s resident expert on Pasadena’s older homes, where bathroom vents into attics and unsealed crawl spaces create the kind of humidity mold likes best. Elena has a habit of drawing a quick sketch of the affected area for every customer before work starts, labeling what’s coming out, what’s staying, and why. She grew up in a 1909 bungalow near Bungalow Heaven, so she takes a certain satisfaction in saving original plaster whenever it’s salvageable.
David K., Service Coordinator
If you call us at 3 a.m. on a Sunday, David’s the voice on the other end. He’s answered our line for seven years and dispatches crews across the San Gabriel Valley from our Pasadena office. David knows the city’s neighborhoods well enough to tell a crew whether they’re heading to a hillside home above the Rose Bowl with tight driveway access or a mid-century rancher in San Rafael with a crawl space to worry about. Before Marsh, he worked logistics for a flooring distributor, which means he can usually tell you over the phone what materials will and won’t survive a water event, saving you a trip to the internet. David’s the one who sends you the technician’s name and photo before the visit, and he’ll call you back when he says he will.
Jorge M., Apprentice Technician
Jorge is two years into his restoration training and spends most of his days setting up drying equipment from Dri-Eaz and Phoenix alongside Marcus, learning the layout of Pasadena’s housing stock one water event at a time. He’s working toward his IICRC Water Restoration Technician certification and already runs the daily moisture readings on active jobs, logging the numbers that determine when drying equipment comes out. Jorge came to us from a handyman background in El Monte, so he’s comfortable with the small repairs that water damage always seems to leave behind. He’s also the only one on the crew who can back a box truck down a Pasadena alley without a three-point turn, which matters more often than you’d think.
One Standard, Every Job
The Threshold Standard isn’t a poster in the office. It’s five steps every crew member follows on every visit, whether it’s a burst pipe in a condo off Lake Avenue or a flooded garage in San Pasqual: a background-checked, identity-verified technician sent to you by name and photo before the visit, who then shows a photo ID badge at your door; a written scope and price agreed to before any work begins; professional restoration equipment matched to the job; photo documentation of every step for your records and your insurer; and a written 365-Day Done Right Promise on the work order. If something isn’t right within a full year, we come back and make it right, free. Every tech on this page carries that standard. Tobias Reyner has been keeping it that way since 2005, and it applies to every Pasadena home we enter, no exceptions.
